Taking a “second look” at government policies might not be so wacky after all

We’ve recently witnessed some extraordinary policy reversals in Canada — extraordinary because it’s now so rare for governments to take a second look at their own decisions. Even when it’s the consequence of public backlash or political opposition, it’s still the closest thing to an apology we ever hear from our elected leaders for obvious mistakes or unforced errors.
